What is the process after the Board accepts my application?

  • The Board will receive your application at a meeting and set a date for a public hearing.
  • They will then distribute your application, plan and project description to the Building Inspector, Board of Health, Conservation Commission, Board of Selectmen, Highway Department, Fire Department and Police Department for their review.
  • We will notify all legal abutters to the property of when and where the public hearing will be.  We will also post this notification in 5 public places in the Town of Brimfield and mail it to all Towns that abut Brimfield.
  • We will publish a public hearing notice twice in a two week period in the newspaper.
  • The public hearing will be held.
  • The Board will make a decision within 90 days of the close of the public hearing.
