Firearms Licensing

In-person firearm licensing takes place every Wednesday from 5 pm to 8 pm on a walk-in basis for both new applications and renewals. 
 
Please contact the Police Department to schedule an appointment if outside this window.
 
FOR NEW FIREARM PERMITS:
  • In-person ONLY.
  • Print and FULLY complete the application.
  • $100.00 non-refundable fee - cash or check - must be made out to the "Town of Brimfield".
    • If under 18 and applying for FID, the fee is $25.
  • Valid Identification (Driver's license).
  • Copy of an approved LTC/FID training course certificate of completion.
  • Your fingerprints will be taken and processed.
FOR RENEWAL OF FIREARM PERMITS:
  • In-person
    • Print and FULLY complete the application.
    • $100.00 non-refundable fee - cash or check - must be made out to the "Town of Brimfield".
      • If under 18 and applying for FID, the fee is $25.
    • Valid Identification (Driver's license).
  • Mail-in
    • Print and FULLY complete the application.
    • $100.00 non-refundable fee - check ONLY - must be made out to the "Town of Brimfield". DO NOT SEND CASH IN THE MAIL.
      • If under 18 and applying for FID, the fee is $25.
  • To qualify for the grace period, you MUST submit your renewal application prior to the expiration date of your current license.
  • For persons 70 years of age or older and are RENEWING, the fee is waived.
