Tantasqua’s Intergenerational Outreach Program

Warmth
outreach

An update from the Intergenerational Club:

As the holidays come around, it’s even more important to take stock and advance altruism on behalf of those that are in need, regardless of background. With this in mind, Tantasqua Regional High School led a multifaceted effort to provide the community with warm apparel as the winter season arrives. From November 1st to November 12th, students, faculty, and the community donated clothing to help those in need of such necessities; apparel ranged from hats, gloves, and jackets, to sweaters and boots. Participating in this initiative was the Student Council, Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, SkillsUSA, The Rotary Club of the Brookfields, and Tantasqua’s Intergenerational Outreach Program. The Intergenerational Club organized the drive, and has been working to promote harmonious relations between the younger and older generations, through community outreach, since 2017. Ms. Reece, a teacher at Tantasqua Regional High School, and Grade 11 student, Jake Rosen, lead the program. All goods were donated to the residents of Brimfield, Monson, Palmer, and Sturbridge. Thank you to everyone that aided in the fruition of this endeavor, and this drive would not have been possible without the support of the community!
