Pursuant to Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §18, and the Governor’s March 15, 2020 Order imposing strict limitation on the number of people that may gather in one place, this meeting of the Brimfield Conservation Commission will be conducted via remote participation to the greatest extent possible. Specific information and the general guidelines for remote participation by members of the public and/or parties with a right and/or requirement to attend this meeting can be found below. No in-person attendance of members of the public will be permitted, but every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time, via technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so, despite best efforts, we will post on the Town of Brimfield website an audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of proceedings as soon as possible after the meeting.

The Conservation Commission meeting will be held via a Zoom Meeting (Internet).

    2. Order of Conditions: DEP # 117-0386; 160 Palmer Road – construction of 3.38 MW solar array & gravel access road
  • Schedule of Public Meetings & Hearings:
    1. 7:00 PM – Cont. RDA: 29 East Hill Road – drainage improvements to intermittent stream: The Commission will r review a Request for Determination of Applicability (RDA) permit application submitted by Joseph Venezia of 29 East Hill Road in Brimfield (Assessor’s Map 6-B-9.2) to determine if the proposed work to reduce erosion and siltation of an intermittent stream is subject to the Wetlands Protection Act (as amended). The work is proposed within the 100-foot buffer zone to Bank of an intermittent stream.
    2. 7:00 PM – Cont. NOI: DEP # 117-0396; 74 Brookfield Road – retaining wall construction: The Commission will review a Notice of Intent (NOI) permit application submitted by Angela Panaccione c/o Scott Chase of 74 Brookfield Road in Brimfield (Assessor’s Map 6-B4.2) to determine if the construction of a 47-foot retaining wall along the bank of Lake Sherman is subject to the MA Wetlands Protection Act (as amended). Approximately 47-feet of disturbance is proposed to the bank of Lake Sherman as a result of this project.
