Pursuant to Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §18, and the Governor’s March 15, 2020 Order imposing strict limitation on the number of people that may gather in one place, this meeting of the Brimfield Conservation Commission will be conducted in person and via remote participation to the greatest extent possible. Specific information and the general guidelines for remote participation by members of the public and/or parties with a right and/or requirement to attend this meeting can be found below. An audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of proceedings will be posted on the Town of Brimfield website as soon as possible after the meeting.

The Conservation Commission meeting will be held in-person and via a Zoom Meeting (Internet).

    1. Request for Extension: DEP # 117-0359 – Lake Sherman aquatic vegetation management
  • Schedule of Public Meetings & Hearings:
    1. 7:00 PM – RDA: MassDOT – delineation confirmation for vegetation management: The Commission will review a Request for Determination of Applicability (RDA) permit application submitted by Peter Cavicchi of MassDOT to determine if the resource area boundaries are accurately delineated along Interstate 90 in Brimfield, MA 01010 (Assessor’s Map ROW) for the application of herbicides to control target vegetation.  The work is proposed in accordance with Rights of Way Management Regulations and MassDOT’s Vegetation Management Plan and Yearly Operational Plan. 
    2. 7:00 PM – RDA: 14 Third Street – Tree removal in buffer zone to Bank of Little Alum Pond: The Commission will review a Request for Determination of Applicability (RDA) permit application submitted by Robinson Tree Service, LLC c/o Donald Robert to determine if the proposed work to remove a hazard tree at 14 Third Street in Brimfield, MA 01010 (Assessor’s Map 5C-A-19) is subject to the Wetlands Protection Act (as amended). The work is proposed within the 100-foot buffer zone to Bank of Little Alum Pond.
